In Short
  • Shaquille O'Neal expressed confidence that the Dallas Cowboys will win the Super Bowl next year during a conversation with Kevin Hart.
  • Colin Cowherd believes the Cowboys are built for a postseason run and justifies their Thanksgiving game slot.
  • The Cowboys face the fourth-toughest schedule in the NFL for the upcoming season, raising concerns about their playoff chances.

The Dallas Cowboys have come a long way from being trolled every year whenever they talk about a Super Bowl run to now, when fans such as Shaquille O’Neal trust what Jerry Jones has done to build the team.

The billionaire has been courting a lot of brickbats for the way he has handled the past few offseasons. From not signing enough players to trading away Micah Parsons, such decisions saw the barbarians lining up at the gates.

Then, since Parsons’ trade, fans and analysts have been noticing how Jones’ moves have started to pan out. His work on the offensive side has ended up creating possibly one of the best units in the league.

Even though this past season exposed their defensive deficiencies, the energy magnates’ moves have led many to start believing in America’s team.

You heard it here first: the Cowboys are going to win the Super Bowl next year.

Shaquille O’Neal said

This was the NBA big man saying this to comedian and actor Kevin Hart‘s face when the Eagles fan ganged up with The Big Podcast with Shaq co-host Adam Lefkoe to try to troll O’Neal for being a Cowboys fan.

The four-time NBA champion trolled himself a while later by asking how many times he had been claiming this in the offseason, only for his team to end up nowhere.

In previous years, O’Neal has even gone to the extent of taking bets on his football team’s chances. This year, he could do so once again, as many tend to agree with him.

Colin Cowherd justifies Cowboys hosting Eagles on Thanksgiving

Shaquille O’Neal and Kevin Hart can continue their battle on Thanksgiving when the latter’s Philadelphia Eagles travel to AT&T Stadium to take on the Dallas Cowboys.

When the NFL released this information, there was much ado about how the league has been favoring the Cowboys despite not having any success to show for. But Colin Cowherd believes this time it is different.

Big markets matter. And I think this is the year that the big markets return to power.

Colin Cowherd said on The Herd

The longtime journalist pointed out how the Dallas Cowboys are legitimately built to go on a postseason run. That alone should justify the NFL’s decision to award them a Thanksgiving slot.

Cowherd predicts that Jerry Jones’ team will use its massive exposure, combined with its potential success, to bring the power back to big-market teams.

For the past several seasons, smaller market teams have been relevant. Now, Cowherd believes that the Dallas Cowboys will just be the start of a big-market revolution.

Jerry Jones’ Cowboys will not have an easy path to glory

The Dallas Cowboys and their fans will be appreciative of Colin Cowherd and Shaquille O’Neal’s predictions. But to get there, they have to first go through the regular season.

The NFL released all the schedules, and Warren Sharp was quick to analyze each team’s strength of schedule. It so happens that America’s team will not have it easy.

After carefully looking into every opponent’s record from this past season, he has deduced that the men in white and blue will have a tough time proving their worth.

They have been handed the fourth-toughest schedule among all 32 teams. The teams facing worse schedules are the Carolina Panthers, the Miami Dolphins, and the Arizona Cardinals.

It could be good news for the latter two, as such tough schedules will help them go after another high draft pick. But for the Cowboys, this is not good news.

Last season, they posted a 7–9–1 record and missed the playoffs despite going through 2025’s third-easiest schedule. Jerry Jones might already be sweating over how his team will fare this year.
