Shawn Michaels is generally portrayed as a calm and collected on-stage authority figure. However, he is still the same Heartbreak Kid who has ruthlessly pushed his way to the top of the company. Incidents on the latest episode of NXT made the Hall of Famer emotionally charged up, and he had a heated altercation with Eddy Thorpe after he put his hands on The Rock‘s daughter, Ava Raine.
On the latest episode of NXT, Raine had some important information regarding the upcoming NXT Deadline PLE. She said that next week’s episode will feature two ‘last chance’ four-way qualifiers for the Iron Survivor Challenge matches for the Premium Live Event. These matches will feature the losers of the initial qualifiers. For the men’s match, this would include Cedric Alexander, Lexis King, Eddy Thorpe, and Axiom.
Ava Raine later separately spoke to Nathan Frazier and Axiom regarding their NXT Tag Team Championship match at Deadline. Before she could leave, Thorpe wanted a word with her about something in private. The general manager claimed that she didn’t have time, and started walking away.
Thrope grabbed her by the waist, she was hit by the door via the brawling tag teams and was knocked down. Raine was later seen getting medical treatment, and Shawn Michaels was also present at the side. The 34-year-old came to apologize, but the former WWE Champion shoved him into a wall and berated him for putting his hands on her.
Eric Bischoff explains why he did not want Shawn Michaels in WCW
During the 1990s, WCW was in full swing and was arguably on the verge of putting WWE out of business. During this time, WCW was poaching some of WWE’s biggest superstars, and the Heartbreak Kid was definitely one of them. However, despite this, Eric Bischoff, WCW’s president at the time, did not want him to join the company.

Speaking on the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff claimed that he saw Michaels as an extremely problematic figure. The infamous Montreal Screwjob, which took place at Survivor Series 1997, further added to this perception. The former Raw General Manager said that he did not want the former DX member in his company, even if he had been available.
Shawn healthy, much like when Scott Hall was clean and sober and really on his game, probably amazing to be around and a wealth of knowledge and creativity, but during that period of time I didn’t need any more stress than I already had.

Instead, Bischoff would have much preferred to have Bret Hart in his company. This eventually came to fruition as the Canadian joined WCW after the infamous incident. While the 69-year-old would have likely been fine with Michaels in the company until 1996, it was out of the question from 1997 onwards. However, it appears that they may have put their differences to the side now. The former WCW President recently made an appearance on NXT, a show run by the 2x Royal Rumble winner.
