Tyson seems to have blessed Jaime Foxx who is also working on a biopic around the boxer's life

Any time there is new media associated with Mike Tyson, the buzz around it is considerable. Recently Hulu launched a trailer for their upcoming mini-series, titled, “Mike” which follows Tyson’s journey from troubled teen to a sports icon. However what happens when Tyson himself hasn’t granted his approval to the series?

While Hulu’s TV series was a welcomed surprise, most fans were expecting a Tyson-related film in the future but it was for the much anticipated Jaime Foxx starter in a biopic. However, the Hulu series too looks promising with Trevante Rhodes shining in the promotional footage released yet.

However, recently Mike himself, made it known publicly for the first time since the launch of the trailer that he in fact did not approve of this series. He did that by thanking one of his friends who refused to take money from Hulu and promote the series, that being UFC president Dana White

Tyson and Dana have shared a long friendship since around the time Mike made his return to public life with a series of movie roles. Even before, being a combat sports enthusiast since his childhood Dana saw Tyson as an almost mythic figure in Boxing’s story and respected him accordingly. He even has photos of Tyson in his famous War Room , where all matchmaking for the UFC occurs.

The former Heavyweight champion took to Twitter in order to make his grievances with the upcoming Hulu show known, he also took a major part of his statement to thank Dana for not promoting the illegitimate series. “Hulu tried to desperately pay my brother @danawhite millions without offering me a dollar to promote their slave master take over story about my life,’ said Tyson on Twitter with an accompanying picture of himself and Dana

Tyson then praised Dana saying, “He turned it down because he honors friendship and treating people with dignity.  I’ll never forget what he did for me just like I’ll never forget what Hulu stole from me.” From what hints we can gather through the trailers, one hunch for Tyson’s disapproval of the series might be because they cover his rape allegations and subsequent arrest, both subjects that Tyson is touchy about despite his “transformation”
