Virat Kohli and Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz received a signed India jersey from Virat Kohli after the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh on Sunday (December 25) in Mirpur. India defeated Bangladesh by three wickets in the second Test to clinch the series 2-0. Following the match, Hasan posted a picture on social media to share that he received jersey from Kohli.
“Special souvenir from one of the greatest cricketer(s) Virat Kohli,” Hasan wrote in his post. Check the post below:
Despite Hasan’s fifer in the second Test, Bangladesh lost the match by three wickets. Hasan, however, shone brilliantly with the bat and the ball. The 25-year-old won the Player of the Series in the three-match ODI series against the Men in Blue. He played an integral part in Bangladesh’s winning the ODI series by 2-1.
In the first ODI, Hasan’s stunning knock snatched victory from India as he stitched a 51-run stand with Mustafizur Rahman, helping Bangladesh win it by one wicket after chasing 187. In the second ODI, Bangladesh batted first and were reduced to 69/9 before Hasan and Mahmudullah’s stand took them to 271/7. Hasan slammed his maiden ton in the 2nd ODI as well.
Virat Kohli did not have a great Bangladesh tour
Kohli did not shine with his bat on the Bangladesh tour. He managed just nine and five runs in the first two ODIs but went on to smash his 72nd international ton in the third ODI. The third ODI was won by India courtesy of Kohli and Ishan Kishan’s double century. In the first Test also, all he scored was one and 19* runs, while in the second Test, his runs were 24 and one.
Meanwhile, in the second Test, India were in terrible situation because of Miraz, who scalped five wickets to show the Indian batters the way back to the pavilion. But Ravichandran Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer‘s knock helped India chase away the 145-run target to win the match by three wickets. India won the previous Test by 188 runs with the help of Kuldeep Yadav’s eight scalps.
