The Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors returned to the White House on Tuesday for the first time since 2015 when they won their first title. They have won 4 titles since then, and normally that would mean that they should’ve visited the White House 4 times but that didn’t happen. During the Donald Trump administration, the Warriors were disinvited from the White House which led them to not go to the White House after being crowned champions twice in that period.

The Warriors, however, made a comeback on Tuesday, months after capturing another championship, led by the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, as well as by young players Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins. Before the image ceremony, Steph was seen entering the room with President Biden which made Jordan Poole giggle and proud of his teammate. Curry also took some time to reflect on the last seven years and to express his gratitude to Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden for helping to secure Brittney Griner’s release from prison.

He said, “It means a lot to know that she’s here and all the work that went on behind the scenes to make that a reality. So I just want to say thank you there.” Curry even spoke of the significance of the team’s visit on Martin Luther King Jr’s birth anniversary. “We’ve been aware of what Dr. King has meant, and his legacy. We’re working every year on that holiday. That’s another time to reflect on … how to amplify his message in our daily lives.”

Michael Jordan’s status as the greatest player of all time on the court may be up for debate, but there is no denying his effect off the court. This includes his branding, advertising, and still-soaring Air Jordan sales, as well as a generation of devoted followers who still love him. Steve Kerr was there to witness it. Now that he is Stephen Curry’s coach, he observes similar behavior, such as MVP chants in their games

He’s the modern MJ. I used to see this playing with the Bulls. Half the crowd’s got red 23 jerseys on and now half the crowd’s got blue and yellow 30 jerseys. “Steph transcends the game. He elicits an emotion from people, I think, because he’s so awe-inspiring with his play that, no matter where we go, there are people cheering for him and can’t wait to see him perform because we’ve never seen anything like him. “

Whether or not the Warriors win a fifth title this season is unknown. Since Curry’s shoulder injury in December, Golden State has gone 8-8 and is currently in seventh place in the Western Conference. The Warriors have also experienced a few internal problems, specifically in relation to an altercation between Green and Poole during the offseason.
