There is no doubt that Stephen Curry has helped the NBA grow significantly. He single-handedly reinforced the notion that basketball is not just for the big and tall but can also be enjoyed and dominated by a smaller individual.

On top of that, two other factors have contributed to his growth into one of the most popular basketball players ever. One is his ever-so-humble nature, which fans love.

The other is his reputation as someone who loves his family, who reinforces the need to respect and love everyone he meets, and who takes a stand against what is wrong.

Most recently, he did that against the recent ICE shootings in Minneapolis, where he subtly reiterated that it is important to be respectful to human beings, and seemingly threw shade at Donald Trump‘s administration for the way they handled the situation.

However, something has come to light that may affect his reputation for the better. An independent journalist, Nate Bear, revealed something on his ‘Do Not Panic’ page.

American basketball star Stephen Curry is investing in tech startups run by former IDF operatives who were integral to building Israel’s digital architecture of apartheid and genocide.

Nate Bear wrote

The journalist cited Stephen Curry’s Penny Jar Capital as having funded Zafran Security and Upwind. Bear backed up his claims with links proving that the Warriors’ star’s company did indeed invest in these companies, which are headed by former Israeli intelligence officers.

Fans tear into Stephen Curry for hypocrisy

Nate Bear’s original story, hosted on Do Not Panic, reached quite a lot of views. But when it appeared on The Grayzone, an independent and investigative platform, the claims quickly went viral.

Many fans were in disbelief as Ayesha Curry, the Golden State Warriors’ star’s wife, had started a GoFundMe page back in 2023 to help those affected in Gaza from Israeli attacks.

Some tried to get X’s primary AI, Grok, to confirm if this was fake news, but even the tool confirmed that Stephen Curry did indeed fund these entities through his investment company. Furious fans took to social media to call out the four-time champion for his hypocritical side. Check out examples of many such angry reactions below.

In Stephen Curry’s defense, he may not have thought too much about whether the companies he was investing in were run by former Israeli intelligence officers.

However, fans believe that anyone investing millions of dollars would double and triple-check everything about the company and its founders, lest they end up in the situation Steve Ballmer has been in.

Stephen Curry exits Warriors game with injury

Stephen Curry and his Golden State Warriors were on a good run of games until fellow superstar Jimmy Butler ended his season early with an ACL tear.

The franchise has since been on a losing run. They could have avoided losing another against the Detroit Pistons had their leading superstar stayed in the game.

As per Anthony Slater, the 37-year-old exited the game in the third quarter. It was later confirmed that he had right knee soreness and might not return.

Curry eventually returned to the bench, but did not go back in as he saw his teammates lose at home. Hopefully, for the Warriors, the point guard recovers fast enough before their next game, three days later.
