Bryan Danielson is preparing for perhaps his final opportunity to win the AEW World Championship at All In. The American Dragon will go up against champion Swerve Strickland in the main event at Wembley Stadium. Ahead of their bout, Strickland talked about facing Danielson in a high-stakes clash. The New Flavor heaped praise on his opponent before sending a warning to him.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Strickland claimed that not only was the former WWE Champion ‘experienced’ but he also called him the ‘GOAT’ of professional wrestling. Moreover, the AEW World Champion admitted that he was arguably facing the toughest challenge of his career so far. Despite that, the 33-year-old wrestler maintained that he was confident heading into the battle at All In.

Danielson gained the opportunity to headline All In when he defeated “Hangman” Adam Page in the Owen Hart Cup final. In his final full-time run of his career, the veteran will look to finally win the title that has eluded him since his AEW debut. Meanwhile, Swerve Strickland continues to prove why he’s one of the best in the business at the moment.

Amidst his reign, Strickland engaged in a mini-feud against The Elite. On the latest episode of Dynamite, he was a part of Team AEW, which went on to win Blood and Guts against the faction.

Details behind Bryan Danielson’s injury and future with AEW

Less than a month away from his match at All In, there has been a lot of speculation regarding Bryan Danielson‘s injury status and future with AEW. Recently, the former Intercontinental Champion revealed that he was advised by doctors not to wrestle until August 25. Furthermore, Danielson confirmed that his current contract would expire in a few days.

Fightful Select provided more details behind Danielson’s shocking revelations. As per the report, AEW has put some heavy restrictions on The American Dragon ahead of All In. In fact, plans have changed on the road to the event due to his injury. 

As for his future with AEW, there is an active plan in place for Danielson to compete past his contract expiration date. According to sources, he is most likely to transition into a part-time role after his current run ends. Regardless, it seems that Tony Khan will lock in the legend with a long-term contract extension, given his importance both on and off screen.
