After being a WWE Superstar for over six years, Ricochet has reportedly decided to leave the Stamford-based company. His contract is set to expire this summer, and he announced that he would not be renewing it with WWE. However, before he could even think about joining AEW, the promotion’s world champion had already sent him a warning on social media.

Swerve Strickland took to X and shared his honest reaction to the news of Ricochet leaving WWE. He stated that if The One & Only joined the Jacksonville-based company, he would have a hard time there. An interesting thing to note is that both superstars share a great history and have even wrestled before. They first met in the ring in 2010.

While wrestling for promotions like XWA and CZW, they have been involved in some of the best matches. Ricochet and Strickland are also part of the main roster in Lucha Underground, known as Killshot and Prince Puma. Their 34-minute match in the Major League Wrestling promotion is widely regarded as one of the best matches of MLW’s modern era.

A fan posted on social media and shared a video of one of their old matches, where they and their opponent executed Mysterio and Guerrero’s DDT spot. Some may even say it was executed better than the original. The former United States Champion responded and said both legends had been an inspiration for him.

Not only fans, but one of the best wrestlers in the world currently, Will Ospreay, also praised him for the talent he possesses. He recently lost his Speed title when he was defeated by Andrade, as WWE is seemingly trying to remove him from all storylines so they aren’t affected by his departure. Only time will tell what more he can accomplish in his WWE run until his contract expires this summer.
