“Back in the Pool!”: Tough competition for Katie Ledecky, Caeleb Dressel at star studded 2022 Pro Swim Series

USA Swimming legends and several times Olympic medallists Katie Ledecky and Caeleb Dressel will be making an appearance at the Pro Swim Series in San Antonio, Texas. Held between 30th March and 2 April, this will be their last major meet ahead of the World Championship trials later this year.

The World Championships are to take place in Budapest, Hungary from 18th June to 3rd July. Ledecky is expected to focus on the women’s 200m and 400m freestyle events, despite her world no. 1 status and speciality in the 800m and 1500m events. Dressel on the other hand has been struggling this year, but will be looking to express his dominance in the 100m butterfly, 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley.

Competitors Katie Ledecky and Dressel must watch out for at Pro Swim Series

Dressel will need to keep his eye on Michael Andrew, who is currently very much in form and ranks above Dressel this season in the 50m and 100m butterfly events. Another young rising star Shaine Casas will be one to look out for in the 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle events this year.

2016 Olymplic Gold medallist Lilly King will also be at the series, racing in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events. Reigning 400m individual medley Olympic champion Chase Kalisz has also entered in the 100m breaststroke, 100m and 200m butterfly, 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley events.
