Ted Lasso offers encouragement via billboard messages for USA players going to the 2022 FIFA World Cup
One of the many billboards.
When it’s time for the grand prize, the FIFA World Cup, the fans and people from different countries find different ways to motivate their players so that they can give their best. Things like big, elaborate roster announcements, viral advertisements, and many more, and these things help the players by giving them an extra boost and reminding them of the land they are representing.
USA men’s national football team has decided to go one step above every other nation by trying to do something really interesting this time. They have bought space on several billboards and wrote motivational messages for several players, addressed to them by the fictional character, Ted Lasso.
These billboards are planted in the respective hometowns of different players who are a part of the 26-member. The messages are really comical and it also represents the true nature of the character Ted Lasso where phrases like “the only bean that’s too big to fit up your nose” and “Best Greggards” have been used.
How does the USA team look on paper?
Haji Wright has currently been in excellent form and has looked quite impressive playing in the Turkish Super Lig for Antalyaspor and he is the second-top scorer in the league as well. Manchester City’s backup goalkeeper and the formidably USA’s number one choice Jack Steffan has been overlooked by the manager and fans are scared that this decision will come to haunt them in the tournament ahead.
Arsenal’s Matt Turner has been given a place in the squad and will be expected to be their number-one choice going into the tournament. Another shocker has been the rejection of Groningen’s Ricardo Pepi who has been tearing it apart in the Eredivisie with Rangers’ Malik Tillman, CF Montreal’s Djordje Mihailovic, and Union Berlin’s Jordan Pefok not making it to Berhalter’s final list.
