The Australian Open 2022 will mark the beginning of the upcoming 2022 season. The authorities are all set to organize one of the biggest tennis events of the year.

Tennis players across the globe can be seen practicing for the big tournament. Many players like Rafael Nadal, Matteo Berrettini and others are preparing very hard to make a great comeback at the Aussie Open.

The AO has become the home for a lot of controversies, one of these is about the tennis legend World No.1 Novak Djokovic.

Amidst COVID-19 the Aussie Open authorities have made it compulsory for all the players to be fully vaccinated to appear at the tournament. But, Novak is not willing to reveal his vaccination status to the authorities and applied for an exemption. Many people took objections to his application but some other people also spoke in his favour.

Novak’s participation in the Aussie Open has become the talk of the town. If the player is not seen at the tournament it would be a huge blow. As he is one of the greatest tennis players of all time, not seeing him at the Australian Open would dishearten his fans.

According to the Serbian newspaper Blic, the organisers of the Open gave a thought to the problems that would arise because of Novak not participating so they decided to have a talk to the authorities of Victoria and negotiate to provide Djokovic and other top players who did not provide their vaccination status a medical exemption.

This step of the AO authorities would turn out be very controversial as people who think Novak’s exemption application was absurd would think of this as a step that will jeopardize the health of the people present at the Aussie Open.
