REVEALED! Ash Barty’s Path to Claim her first US Open title
Ashleigh Barty
Australian Ashleigh Barty has been world number one since September 2019. She has already lifted five titles this season, including the Wimbledon Championships. Barty recently clinched the Cincinnati Open, beating Jil Teichmann and winning the tournament without dropping a single set.
In June, Ash Barty competed in the Wimbledon Grand Slam in England. At Wimbledon 2021, she set several of records and claimed her maiden Wimbledon title. She beat some of the strongest tennis players in the world, including Karolina Pliskova, Angelique Kerber, and Barbora Krejcikova, on her route to the championship.
Ash Barty’s Path to US Open 2021 Title
In the first round, Ash Barty will play Vera Zvonareva, a two-time grand slam finalist. Clara Burel of France will most likely be her second-round opponent.
She might face Shelby Rogers of the United States in the third round of the US Open. Then, she may meet Karolina Muchova or Jennifer Brady in the fourth round.
Iga Swiatek, the 2019 French Open winner, might be her contender in the quarterfinals. If Barty overcomes all of these challenges, she will face Karolina Pliskova or Bianca Andreescu in the semi-finals. If all goes according to plan for the world number one, she will battle Naomi Osaka in the finals for the title.
Barty’s path to US Open 2021 title:
- 1R: Vera Zvonareva
- 2R: Clara Burel
- 3R: Shelby Rogers
- 4R: Karolina Muchova/Jennifer Brady
- QF: Iga Swiatek
- SF: Karolina Pliskova/Bianca Andreescu
- F: Naomi Osaka
While Barty willingly withdrew to compete in the US Open 2020 because to covid-19, she will commence the competition as the bookies’ favorite this year. Her calm temperament and physical endurance in critical matches have helped her win grand slams. It will be her third grand slam overall and first US open championship if she wins the US Open 2021.
