World No.2 Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev ended his Grand Slam drought last year at the US Open 2021 by defeating World No.1 Novak Djokovic with a score of 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in the finals. 2021 has been an incredible year for the 25 years old. He finished the season with a ATP ranking of World No.2.
This year too the player had a great start at the ATP Cup by defeating Felix Auger Aliassime in the semifinals with a score of 6-4, 6-0. After that he won the first round of the Australian Open 2022 by defeating Henri Laaksonen with a score of 6-1, 6-4, 7-6.
Nick Kyrgios on the other hand has been in the headlines from a long time because of his opinions on Novak Djokovic visa saga. At first he spoke against the Serb’s exemption application but after the series of events that followed at the Melbourne airport changed his thoughts and he became one of the people who spoke in favour of Novak. Nick has nit been seen on the court since September 2021.
