Team Serbia, led by Novak Djokovic hasn’t had the easiest way into the semifinals. They made it to the quarterfinals only because Russia defeated Spain. The Djokovic led side lost their second group stage match to Germany and were dependent on Russia for qualification. If Russia would’ve lost to Spain in their last group stage match, Serbia would’ve been knocked out in the group stage itself. But Russia defeated Spain and hence Serbia made it to the last 8.
In the quarterfinals, they defeated Kazakhstan in a thriller where Miomir Kecmanovic lost to Mikhail Kukushkin before Djokovic leveled things up with a victory over Alexander Bublik. Djokovic and Cacic won the deciding doubles match.
As for Croatia, they topped Group D after beating Australia and Hungary. They have the best doubles team of Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic in the tournaments and will expect them to win the decider if needed. In singles, they rely on Marin Cilic with Borna Gojo playing the other singles.

This tie will be purely based on matchups. Djokovic will play Cilic in the second singles and is expected to win and give Serbia a point. On the other hand, the Croat pairing of Mektic and Pavic will back themselves to win the match. Hence, the first singles between Kecmanovic and Gojo will be very important in deciding the outcome. Serbia are expected to win both singles matches and make it to the final.
