2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem did not have a good time in the 2021 season where he entered a season for the first time as a Grand Slam champion. After having made the 4th round at the 2021 Australian Open, Thiem faced early exits in Doha and Dubai to end his hardcourt season on a bitter note.
After a semi-final run at the 2021 Madrid Masters, he lost in the early rounds in Rome, Lyon and also the 2021 French Open where he was shocked in the first round itself. Preparing for the 2021 Wimbledon, Thiem decided to play at the inaugural 2021 Mallorca Championships where he injured his wrist and had to withdraw from the tournament which eventually needed his season.
Over the next few days, the seriousness of the injury was confirmed and it was feared that he might need a surgery but it was eventually avoided and Thiem returned to training shortly after. With eyes set on the 2022 season, the Austrian is working out regularly and recently took to his Twitter handle to post some more updates.
While it was also a plugin for the Techno Gym, Thiem can be seen indulging in cardio exercise.
