Former World No. 5 Eugenie Bouchard has been one of the most popular players to emerge from Canada. Despite recurring injuries, the player remains popular amongst fans and is often seen interacting with fans, both online and in-person as well having organised an impromptu meet-up in New York.
Bouchard is quite a social media star and has a massive fan following where she regularly posts photos and videos, not only of her training but also around her personal life. In one such post, Bouchard and former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki were involved in a friendly exchange that was later joined in by current World No. 25 Jennifer Brady.
In her latest Instagram post, Genie was seen posing in the snow while wearing a crop-top inside an overcoat. While it was a non-conventional dressing choice given snowy conditions, Caroline commented saying, “Crop top in the snow?!” to which Genie was quick to reply, “girl, NOTHING will stop me from wearing crop tops.” Later Brady jumped in on the conversation and commented, “same… #nahhht.”

Bouchard is currently ranked 253rd in the world, a drop of more than 100 places from her ranking at the start of the year when she was ranked World No. 141. As she was not in the spot for automatic qualification into the main-draw of the Australian Open, she played the qualifiers losing in the 2nd round.
She returned to Tour in Lyon but lost in the first round itself. She made good use of the wildcard handed to her at the Abierto Zapopan Open in Guadalajara where she reached her 8th career WTA final but lost in straight-sets to Sara Sorribes Tormo. She played in another tournament in Monterrey but lost in the first round.
Her defeat in Monterrey turned out to be her final match of the season as she suffered another injury setback because of a torn right subscapularis which needed surgery and eventually ended the season with a 5-4 record. With her comeback expected in early 2022, there has been no update about where will she return to action.
