31-year-old Evans will be making his second appearance at the Canadian Open, he was knocked out in the second round in Montreal in 2019. He began the season by winning his first career title, defeating Felix Auger Aliassime in the final of Melbourne but since then it’s been a mixed bag year for the Briton.

He fell in the first round of the 2021 Washington Open to Brandon Nakashima last week. Evans lost the first set in tie-break but was bagelled in the second by the Atlanta Open finalist.

Two runner-up finishes, a semifinal and three quarterfinals, it’s been a busy year for Alexander Bublik. The Kazakh has played plenty of matches and delivered results on all surfaces. Overall, the big-serving 24-year-old is 26-19 this season and 15-9 on hard courts. Alexander lost in the first round in Tokyo to Daniil Medvedev and will be making his main draw debut in Canada.
