Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated the Russian, Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in the quarterfinals. The Greek avenged his loss from the Australian Open 2021 semifinals, where the Greek was defeated by Medvedev in straight sets.
Alexander Zverev thrashed the Spaniard, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets in the quarterfinals. The tall German has been in brilliant form throughout the clay court season, and will hope to reach the finals of French Open 2021.

Alexander Zverev survived a five set scare in the first round of French Open 2021, as he came back from two sets down to defeat fellow countryman, Oscar Otte. Since then, the sixth seed has not dropped a single set and has been ruthless. He has defeated the likes of Kei Nishikori, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets. The German claimed the Madrid Masters title last month, after defeating Matteo Berrettini in the finals.
Stefanos Tsitsipas has dropped just one set so far at the French Open. The Greek has been in fine form during the clay court season, and has lifted the title at Monte Carlo and Lyon. The fifth seed defeated John Isner in four sets in the third round, and scored a straight sets victory over Pablo Carreno Busta in the fourth round.
The match is expected to be a close encounter, with both players determined to reach their first final at French Open. However, Stefanos Tsitsipas has been much more of a complete player on clay this year, and has shown that he can handle pressure.
