US Open 2021: Gael Monfils vs Jannik Sinner LIVE stream: When, Where, and How to Watch

The 3rd round of the US Open 2021 will see a battle between veteran and youngster when Frenchman Gael Monfils will take on Italian youngster Jannik Sinner in what will be their 3rd meeting on the Tour.

Monfils has looked to finally picked up form and overcome his injury woes that reduced his match time in the first half of the season. Since the Hardcourt season has resumed he has put in good performances which include his quarter-final run at the 2021 Toronto Masters.

Sinner also has had a revival to his season having struggled during the Clay and Grass season after a good first half on Hardcourts that saw him win his 2nd career title and reach the finals of the 2021 Miami Masters. Sinner recently won the ATP-500 Washington Open, his biggest career title so far and looks to make a good run at the US Open 2021.

Monfils started his week in New York with a straight-set win over Argentina’s Federico Coria winning the tie 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. In the 2nd round, he was up against American Steve Johnson and went on to defeat him 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the 3rd round of the US Open for the 8th time in his career.

Sinner managed to find the hard route once again and battled past Max Purcell in 4-sets in the 1st round defeating the Australian 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. In the 2nd round when he was up against American wildcard entrant Zachary Svajda and defeated him 6-3, 7-6(2), 6-7(6) 6-4 to reach the 3rd round in his 3rd attempt at the Grand Slam after having lost in the 1st round in both of his previous appearances.
