Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff reaches the 3rd round at the French Open for the first time with her 6-3, 7-6(1) victory in the 2nd round of the French Open 2021.

Coco is enjoying the Clay season this year having already won 2 titles on Clay, 1 each in Singles and Doubles event of the recently concluded WTA Parma Open 2021 and extends her Clay wins to 14 for the season.

Jennifer Brady also makes her 3rd round debut at the French Open after failing to do so in her previous 5 attempts. She reaches the 3rd round with a 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 victory in the 2nd round after having won her 1st round in straight-sets.

Brady has not had much success on Clay this year after some poor results and an injury in the Italian Open 2021 that cut short her tournaments before the Grand Slam in Paris.

Gauff has been amazing this season especially on Clay being 14-3 on the surface for the season. She has already defeated some of the top seeds including the 2021 Madrid Open winner Aryna Sabalenka and will come into the confident and looking to level the scores with Brady in the head-to-head tie where Coco is behind.

Jennifer is 5-2 on Clay for the season and has not looked in great touch this season. She will however be confident of putting up a great fight after a straight-set win in the first round and staging a comeback after losing the 2nd set in her 2nd round game.
