Young 17-year-old, Coco Gauff reached a career-high ranking of 23 earlier this year in June and has won 2 titles on the WTA Tour including one this year at the 2021 Emilia Romagna Open in Parma. Gauff had to withdraw from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for coronavirus and was thus last seen on the tour at Wimbledon.

In London, Gauff was seeded number 20 and reached the round of 16 where she lost against number 25 seed, Angelique Kerber in straight sets, 4-6, 4-6. Gauff is seeded number 15 at the National Bank Open and won her first-round match against Anastija Sevastova in straight sets.

This year, Potapova had a brilliant run at the 2021 Dubai Open where she reached the Quarter Finals. She beat players like Madison Keys, and Bianca Andressscu on the way. Eventually losing to Barbora Krejčíková. In the 2021 Miami Open though she was ousted in the very first round by Ajla Tomljanović of Australia, 7-5 6-0.

She lost in the qualifiers of the 2021 Silicon Valley Classic recently although she battled past those in the Rogers Cup 2021. Anastasia defeated American Shelby Rogers in the first round in straight sets 7-6, 6-3.
