Lloyd Harris vs Lukas Lacko : Preview
Lloyd Harris gets his first win at the Halle Open as he defeats Gael Monfils 6-4, 6-4 in just over an hour to advance into the 2nd round of the tournament. Harris had previously featured in the 2019 edition as well but lost in the 1st qualifying round to Mischa Zverev.
Harris who made his Grass debut for the season at the recently concluded 2021 ATP Stuttgart Open registered his first Grass win since 2017 when he won his first round match at the tournament. But he later lost to eventual runner-up Canadian youngster Felix Auger-Aliassime in the 2nd round from where he travels to Halle.
Lukas Lacko finally breaks his poor streak of 3 consecutive first round defeats at the Halle Open in his last-3 appearances. Lacko who started at the tournament from the qualifying stages won both his games and also the first round to finally advance into the 2nd round for the first time since his last 2nd round appearance in 2012.
Lacko defeated Guido Pella 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-1 to advance into the 2nd round as he looks to get some more wins and try qualifying for the 2021 Wimbledon through the qualifying rounds of the Grand Slam.
Lloyd Harris vs Lukas Lacko : Head to Head
This will be the 4th overall meeting between the duo and 2nd of the year as they previously met at the 2021 Qatar Open. This will be their first meeting on the Grass surface as well. Harris after losing their 1st meeting, won the remaining 2 and leads the head-to-head tie 2-1.
Lloyd Harris vs Lukas Lacko : Prediction
Lacko will come into the match with a career Grass record of 57-40 and a season record of 8-13 as he looks to improve what has been a poor season for the Slovakian.
Harris on the other hand comes in with a career Grass record of 3-8 and a season record of 16-10. However, 2021 has been a good season for the South African and he will be the favourite coming into the match looking at his overall form this year.
Prediction: Lloyd Harris to win in straight-sets.
