Novak Djokovic has been the hot topic of the tennis world since last season. The player applied for an exemption from the covid vaccine but his application was denied by the Australian Open authorities. But at the start of the new 2022 season, the authorities granted him exemption and the trial began. The player flew all the way to Melbourne only to be deported back after hours of interrogation and isolation.

When his visa was the first time, he made an appeal but got nothing out of it because he and his lawyer tried to prove that the Serb did not take the vaccine because ahead of the Aussie Open he suffered from covid, but they were not able to produce sufficient and appropriate evidence which would prove their statement and thus Novak’s visa got canceled again and he was deported back.

Many tennis stars and experts criticized Novak’s decision of not taking the vaccine, one of them is tennis star Andy Murray. Recently in an interview at Dubai Tennis Championships 2022, the player expressed his views on Novak’s case. He said he feels bad for the World No.1, but he also thinks that taking vaccines would benefit him and tennis.

“I’ve not seen him here. We exchanged a few messages while he was in Australia. I don’t agree with his decision. It would be a lot easier for him if he were to get vaccinated. But I also didn’t like seeing him in the situation that he was in. I’ve known him since I was a child and I don’t like seeing that. It would be better for tennis if he were playing all of the Majors events,” Andy said in the interview.

Murray, who is currently playing the Dubai Tennis Championships has won his first-round match against Christopher O’Connell and will now face 4th seed Jannik Sinner in the Round of 16 on Wednesday.
