Naomi Osaka is one of the most well-known names in the tennis scene. Osaka has already won numerous Grand Slam titles and has reached the summit of the rankings. Off the court. the Japanese star is an advocate for the mental health awareness of athletes.
Recently, Osaka’s boyfriend, Cordae Amari Dunston, commonly known as “Cordae”, opened up about his relationship with the Japanese star. The power couple has been dating since 2019 and often supports each other endeavors. In a recent interview with Breakfast Club, the Grammy-nominated rapper talked about Osaka’s and his own professional lives and how they impact their personal lives. Cordae said he is generally reserved about his personal life and prefers to keep it that way.
“I try to just keep the personal life personal and private you know. That’s why you ain’t gonna see, like, you’re not gonna see too much of my personal life. You ain’t gonna see like my mom on my Instagram. I try to keep that separate,” he said.
However, Cordae hasn’t revealed whether the songs are related to Osaka.
“I don’t know man, we gotta see. Listen to the album from a bird’s-eye view. Let’s see. Thank you. Appreciate it,” he further added.
At the Australian Open, Osaka promoted Cordae’s album after her opening-round win. She wrote ‘FABEV’ on the camera lens. an acronym for his new album “From a Bird’s Eye View.”
Naomi Osaka to return to action at the Indian Wells
Osaka spent the better half of her last season off the courts after she took a hiatus citing mental health issues. She kicked off her 2022 season with a semi-final finish at the WTA Melbourne Summer Set 1. In her next tournament at the Australian Open, Osaka’s title defense was cut short in the third round itself after she faced a shock loss to World No.60 Amanda Anisimova. With only a few tournaments under her belt this year and skipping most of the tournaments last year, Osaka’s ranking has taken a huge hit. The 4 time Grand Slam champion has plummeted down the ranking to 80th place, her first time out of the top-50 since 2015.
Now, the former World No.1 returns to the hard courts of California at the Indian Wells, the place where she won her 1st WTA title, and will be looking to find her rhythm and return to her title-winning ways at the WTA 1000 tournament.
