Petra Kvitova is set to make her Grass debut for the season as she enters into the tournament as the top-seeded player. Kvitova has won 2 Grand Slams both of which came at the Wimbledon, first in 2011 and second in 2014. As the 2021 Wimbledon approaches, the former World No. 2 will look to get some practice before she goes chasing her 3rd title at the All-England Club.
Petra last played at the 2021 French Open, where after a tight 1st round victory she had to withdraw her name before playing the 2nd round match due to an ankle injury. With a good break for nearly 3 weeks, fans will be eager to see the Czech star back in action on her favourite surface.
Katarzyna Piter enters the main draw after winning her only qualifier round match, which became a close encounter going into the tiebreaker in the final set. Piter enters the main draw of any competition for the first time as she plays just her 4th tournament of the season at the Bad Homburg Open 2021.
She last featured on the tour at the 2021 Copa Colsanitas held during the 2nd week of April where she lost in the qualifying round failing to enter the main draw.

Having played handful of matches this year, Piter will take the court with a season record of 1-3, with her only win coming in the qualifying round yesterday.
Kvitova will be back on court after a 3-week lay off and will come into the clash with a season record of 16-8 with an identical 8-4 record on Hardcourts as well as on Clay. She has a career Grass record of 58-19 and will be the favourite for this clash looking at her numbers and overall form this season.
