Women’s Singles Draw Preview and Prediction
Top Half
British sensation Emma Raducanu headlines the top half and has been handed a very easy draw. She receives a first round bye and will face a qualifier in the second round. She is drawn alongside 8th seed Alison Riske who opens against Mona Barthel. Frenchwoman Alize Cornet also is in the same quarter and faces Julia Grabher in the first round. Raducanu and Riske are expected to meet in the last 8.
American Danielle Collins will face either Oceane Dodin or Greet Minnen in the second round after getting an opening round bye. Kremlin Cup finalist Ekaterina Alexandrova opens against a qualifier and could face either Alison Van Uytvanck or Sinja Kraus in the Round of 16.
First semifinal prediction: Emma Raducanu vs Ekaterina Alexandrova
Bottom Half
Former World No.1 Simona Halep headlines and bottom half of the draw and receives a first round bye. She would face the winner of Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the Round of 16. Italian Jasmine Paolini is seeded 7th and takes on Dayana Yastremska in the first round. Saisai Zheng and Clara Burel are also placed in the bottom quarter.
Russian Veronika Kudermetova will face the winner of Anhelina Kalinina vs Martina Trevisan in the Round of 16. 6th seed Sorana Cirstea will lock horns against Veronika Kudermetova in the opener and could face Rebecca Peterson in the second round. Kudermetova and Alexandrova could meet in the last 8.
Second semifinal prediction: Veronika Kudermetova vs Simona Halep
Semifinals
US Open champion Emma Raducanu will face Kremlin Cup runner-up Ekaterina Alexandrova in the first semifinal. Raducanu hasn’t been very consistent post her success at Flushing Meadows while Alexandrova has done well in the recent past. Expect the Russian to topple Raducanu.
In the second semifinal, Veronika Kudermetova will clash with Simona Halep. The Romanian is slowly and steadily getting back in form post her injury and showed form last week at the Translyvania Open. Expect her to make another final.

Final
Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova will be up against second seed Simona Halep in the final of the 2021 Linz Open. Halep hasn’t had a fruitful year but would fancy her chances to end it on a high. Expect the former World No.1 to bag another title under her belt.
