Majestic from the defending champion! Naomi Osaka storms into the third round of Australian Open 2022 with a straight sets win

Naomi Osaka stormed into the third round of Australian Open 2022, with a straight sets win over American, Madison Brengle in the second round. Osaka, seeded 13th has a tough draw ahead of her, but she is showing signs of returning to her best form.
Naomi Osaka defeated Madison Brengle by a score-line of 6-0, 6-4. The defending champion was absolutely ruthless in the first set, as she dropped a bagel in 20 minutes. Brengle searched for answers, whilst, Osaka smashed winners from the baseline.
The second set was a much serious affair, as Osaka won the set, 6-4. She was also broken once in the second set at a crucial stage, but she did well and won three consecutive games to clinch the match.
Naomi Osaka faces a stern test in Round 3!

Naomi Osaka was no doubt the superior player today, as she converted 5 out of 7 break point opportunities. Osaka won above 70% of her points on first serve, whereas, Brengle just won above 40% of those points.
In all, the 13th seed won 65 points, whereas, the American won just 41 points. Osaka also served up 8 huge aces en-route to her victory. However, one area of concern for the defending champion was the number of unforced errors she made in the second set.
Speaking after the match, Naomi Osaka stated that she does not want to compare herself with the past version of her. “I feel like if I compare myself to the past then I’ll never be satisfied,” Osaka said.
Next up, Naomi Osaka faces a stern test in the form of another American, Amanda Anisimova in the third round. The American youngster defeated Tokyo Olympics gold-medalist, Belinda Bencic in straight sets in the second round.
