German tennis player Alexander Zverev has congratulated Novak Djokovic on his US Open 2023 win in the most classy way possible. He paid tribute to the legend via an Instagram story, hailing his 24th Grand Slam win and calling him a legend.
“Not sure what else this man can prove. You’re a legend my friend. Not only in tennis but in all sports,” Zverev said in his Instagram story while posting a picture of Novak Djokovic.
Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic had very contrasting fortunes in the 2023 US Open. While Djokovic went on to win the tournament ultimately by defeating Daniil Medvedev in the final, Zverev lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals of the tournament after a one-sided battle. However, it was commendable that he made it to the semis.
Talking about Novak Djokovic, he bettered his own record as he lifted the 2023 US Open, which was the 24th Grand Slam title of the Serb’s career. This, hands down, is a record that is extremely difficult to be broken by anyone else ever and will be here to stay for a long time. Thus, he deserves all the appreciation and praise in the world, without an iota of doubt. He defeated Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in the final to win the trophy. This was the fourth career US Open for Novak Djokovic.
