Meanwhile, in a media interaction when journalists asked him about his thoughts on the impact of the injury which led him to sit out for the most part of the 2022 season, he was candid about its implications and how it helped him.
“ When such a thing happens, the first thing to do is to accept it. It didn’t cost me much because the injury happened while I was doing what I love most in the world, which is competing in one of the most important tournaments and against the most dangerous opponents possible,” he said.
“If I had broken my ankle snowboarding or skating it would have been horrible, very hard to accept, but when you are doing what you are passionate about and chasing your dreams, you have nothing to be ashamed of. I tried to keep myself busy all day and do things that I don’t usually do. Although in a cast, I went to the gym twice a day and tried to make things better, ” he continued.
