Men’s Singles Draw Preview
Top Half
Big serving American Reilly Opelka will headline the top half of the draw and gets a first-round bye along with the other top 4 seeds. He will face either Ilya Ivashka or Quentin Halys in the Round of 16 and is drawn along with 5th seed Tommy Paul who faces Jack Sock in a thrilling first-round match. The winner of that match will face either Soonwoo Kwon or Marcos Giron in the second round.
Former champion and third seed Alex De Minaur will be up against the winner of the match between Dominik Koepfer and James Duckworth. Wimbledon finalist and 7th seed Nick Kyrgios will meet Peter Gojowczyk in the opening round and could meet his doubles partner Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round. Kokkinakis will open against wild card Andres Martin.

Defending champion John Isner has been the best player in Atlanta over the last decade. He has ruled the tournament and has won it 6 times. He is seeded second and will face either Ben Shelton or qualifier Ramkumar Ramanathan in the Round of 16. 6th seed Jenson Brooksby will face Benoit Paire in the opening round and will be up against either Denis Kudla or Mackenzie McDonald in the second round.
4th seed Frances Tiafoe will lock horns against either Taro Daniel or Sebastian Korda in the second round. He is drawn against 8th seed Brandon Nakashima who opens against Jordan Thompson and will face either John Millman or Alexei Popyrin in the Round of 16. Tiafoe/Korda and Nakashima are expected to meet in the quarterfinal.

Semifinals
In a thrilling encounter, top seed Reilly Opelka will face Australian showman Nick Kyrgios in the first semifinal. Both men serve very big but Kyrgios will have a big edge from the baseline. Expect fast-paced tennis with Kyrgios reaching a second consecutive tour final.
Brandon Nakashima will lock horns against John Isner in an All-American semifinal clash. This will be the repeat of last year’s final and not a lot has changed since then. Once again, expect Isner to reach the final at Atlanta for the 8th time.

Final
In a mouth-watering clash, Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios will face defending champion John Isner in the final of the Atlanta Open. Both men serve big but Kyrgios is better in terms of ground strokes than Isner. But given Isner’s ruthless record in the tournament, it will be very difficult for the Aussie to beat him. Having said that, Kyrgios should have enough in the tank to win his first tour title in almost 5 years.
