American tennis sensation Ben Shelton has been in great form this year, raising a few eyebrows with his scintillating tennis in the last few months.
The American star even made it to the US Open semi-finals a few months ago but lost against eventual champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets. While the star boy is adamant about revenge in his next meeting against the Serbian, his father discloses Ben’s search for a resurgence.
In a recent interview with media outlet Ubitennis, Ben’s father, Bryan Shelton, was asked to comment on his son’s matchup against Djokovic in the US Open semi-finals.
While the moderator was looking to put his father in a tough spot, Bryan handled the question pretty well, talking about his son’s run into the last four of the tournament and how confident he was all along the course of the competition.
I think it was the last option. And playing against Djokovic with confidence, I think it was fantastic. He lost the match, against a great champion.Bryan said via UBITennis
Continuing his train of thought, he further added:
So I think he just learned from the match, he went back and watched the video, and he really had time after the US Open to reflect on what he needs to do to continue to improve so that he can one day win those types of matches. Identifying the things he can do better. And then go back to work.
How has Ben Shelton performed all along this year?
