As the 22-time Grand Slam champion is all set to make his final comeback to the sport in the year 2024, tennis fans and followers are excited to see how well Rafael Nadal fares in the upcoming season. Fans are looking forward to seeing if he has it in him to go out there and win yet another Grand Slam at this phase of his career.

Former German tennis player and legend Boris Becker in an exclusive interview with Eurosport Germany talked about how he believes that the 14-time French Open champion has way too much in his career to be counted out of the next season. Adding further, the 6 time Grand Slam champion stated,

I would never bet against Rafa on a tennis court, he has won too much and is very strong. He has experience and is one of the best in history.

Nadal has been training rigorously to make a solid comeback to the sport after almost a year of missing in action. The Spaniard pulled out of the 2023 Australian Open and has been out of the entire season this year due to injury concerns. The retired German tennis player and current coach of Holger Rune gave some insights into Nadal’s chances of winning a Grand Slam this year. Talking about what he should prioritize in the coming season, Boris Becker stated,

If he considers that he still has options to win tournaments in the Grand Slam, you have to believe him. Nadal's goal has to be Roland Garros and the Games in Paris.

The former World No.1, Rafael Nadal, has time and again expressed his desire to play once again at the highest level before he bids goodbye to the sport for good. He has also started training to make one final comeback to the sport in his 2024 farewell tour. The Spaniard has confirmed his participation in the Brisbane Open to kick off his 2024 campaign before he lays foot at the Australian Open.

Nadal has also made it clear that winning a Grand Slam, especially the Roland Garros, will not be of top priority to him as he is happy enough to be able to play competitive tennis after a year of being absent from the court. He understands the challenges that he will face and has shown some excitement in representing his nation at the 2024 Paris Olympics alongside fellow tennis player and countryman, Carlos Alcaraz.
