Carlos Alcaraz lost his semifinal match against Felix Auger Aliassime at the Swiss Indoors in Basel and looked in some discomfort in his knee in the match. He underwent medical tests to examine the severity of the injury scare and his chances to play at the Paris Masters hung in doubt. But the Spaniard got a green light after the final test results were out.
He has had a spectacular year with his consistent performances especially with becoming the youngest World No 1 player in the history of tennis. He clinched his maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open along with his four 4 ATP singles titles throughout the year. He has won 55 matches out of the total 67 matches he has played in the year.
The young Spaniard confirmed his participation at Bercy where he will be looking for his fifth title of the year. He made the final decision after receiving the test results as he has an extra day to recover. He will face Yoshihito Nishioka in the second-round clash at the Paris Masters after receiving a bye in the first round.
The World No 1 player said that “I had problems with my knee. Every player has problems at the end of the year. Not too serious“.
Carlos Alcaraz hasn’t won a title since becoming the World No 1

Post his triumph at the US Open and becoming the youngest teen to become the world No 1, Carlos Alcaraz played his first match at the Astana Open where he faced a second-round elimination. He reached the semifinals of the Swiss Indoors in Basel but was beaten by the eventual winner Aliassime in straight sets in his ninth semifinal appearance of the season.
After Paris Masters, he will play at the Nitto ATP Finals where he makes his debut followed by representing his country at the Davis Cup Finals. He will be looking to retain his top spot and grab as many points as possible with the few tournaments left on the Tour before the end of the year.
