World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz can’t seem to catch a break so far this season. He had to delay his start to the season and made his season debut at the 2024 Australian Open. He was, however, outplayed by Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals, as the German won in four sets.

As a result, he could not close the gap between him and World No. 1 Novak Djokovic. The Serb lost in the semi-finals during his title defense campaign, losing to eventual champ Jannik Sinner. Alcaraz had missed the 2023 edition and had only points to gain this year. But he squandered his chance.

Next up, he took a break and returned to action in the South American clay leg. He was the defending champion at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires but lost in the semi-finals to eventual runner-up Nicolas Jarry. He then moved to Brazil for the ATP-500 event in Rio.

The top-seeded Spaniard finished runner-up in Rio last year. Playing in his first match against local lad Thiago Monteiro, Alcaraz rolled his ankle on just the second point of the match. He tried to play on but signaled his withdrawal to the chair umpire after losing the second game as Monteiro made it 1-1.

With many fearing a serious injury, the former World No. 1 quickly cleared the air. He took to his Instagram account to post another update on the extent of his injury and confirm his plans for the next events.

I just had an MRI on my ankle after yesterday’s injury. After the meeting with my doctor @drlopezmartinez and my physiotherapists @juanjo_moreno_m and @sergiokine the diagnosis is a grade II lateral sprain. I have a sprain that will keep me out for a few days! See you in Las Vegas and Indian Wells!

The individual sessions will be charged at $150,000 by both Nadal and Alcaraz. But by the looks of it, all of these have already been booked.

The two will also give a combined lesson, for which they are charging $50,000. Americans Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe will also share their expertise in a group session, for which $25,000 is the fee per person.
