Russian World No.3 Daniil Medvedev would have expected to meet the Spanish top seed Carlos Alcaraz in the finals but Jannik Sinner had different plans for the fortnight as he booked his spot in the finals. Medvedev meanwhile looked on song as he took care of the German World No.10 Alexander Zverev in straight sets: 6-4, 6-3. The Russian will be looking to keep up his race for the year-end World Number 1 ranking with a title here in the China Open.
