Jimmy Butler knew well that the Heat would make it to the Finals, no matter the obstacles. Tennis star Coco Gauff, a huge Miami Heat fan, revealed how the Heat star was confident about the team’s finish even before the playoffs began.

After her three-set win at the French Open, Gauff was relieved at the results of the Eastern Conference Finals. Jimmy had kept his promise and had cruised past the Celtics in a series that pushed till Game 7. Now, she wouldn’t regret missing the playoff games because she attended tennis Opens in Madrid, Rome, and France.

Speaking to the reporters, Gauff revealed how Butler offered her tickets to the finals when she spoke of being unable to attend the playoff games way back during the conclusion of the regular season. This was even before Heat’s initial defeat against the Hawks, while they had just a 3% chance of making it to the Finals. Jimmy told Gauff, “OK when we make the finals, let me know if your family wants some tickets.”

Notice how Butler said “when we make the finals” instead of quoting a probability saying “if we make it to the finals.” This made Gauff sure that Miami was reaching the finals, no matter what. Appreciating this instance, Gauff says, “I remember screenshotting it and sending it to my family and I was, like, ‘Oh, we’re going, we’re going to the finals.’ So that’s my Jimmy Butler story. He pretty much said we were going to the finals before we even qualified for the playoffs, and I just really like that mentality of him.”

On Thursday, the Miami Heat will face the Denver Nuggets for Game 1 of the NBA Finals series. This series is much anticipated, given the standoff predicted between two great players- Jimmy Butler and Nikola Jokic.
