American tennis sensation Coco Gauff did the unthinkable recently by winning the 2023 US Open. She defeated Belarusian international Aryna Sabalenka in the final in the most heroic fashion to win her first-ever Grand Slam. Amid the joyous occasion during the final, some eagle-eyed observers were quick enough to spot a special shirt that Coco Gauff’s father, Corey Gauff, was wearing during the final. 

The shirt in conversation had a special design with the word ‘Imagine’ imprinted on top. In a recent interview, Coco Gauff revealed the significance of that shirt. “For me, he said that he bought it at the beginning of the tournament. And he said that he had an image that I was going to go and make it to the final and he was going to wear that shirt if I did,” Coco Gauff said on the Today Show.

“And I think, ‘just imagine’. Just imagine if your dreams can come true and you’ve got to just keep working for it,” she added. Coco Gauff’s win over Aryna Sabalenka in the final was truly a sweet miracle. Despite losing the first set, the 19-year-old made a sensational comeback in the last two sets to win the tournament in style. The fact that she did that against the WTA World No. 1 player shows how big this achievement was.

Coco Gauff thanked her parents after winning the US Open and said that she had seen her father cry for the first time ever after she defeated Aryna Sabalenka. Cracking a joke at the expense of his father, Coco said that he thinks he is hard but he is actually not, and that he got caught in 4K.

Coco Gauff flaunts her stunning Pink dress in US Open victory bash 

Coco Gauff recently celebrated her US Open victory at the luxurious Ray Hotel in her native state of Florida. At the party, she was seen wearing a stunning pink dress and her childhood friend Jamilah Nicole Snells posted a picture of Coco in her pink dress and herself in a black dress on her Instagram with the caption “My Champ”.

Thanks to her antics in the US Open, Coco Gauff rose up to the 3rd spot on the WTA rankings and that is her career high as of now. However, the youngster has a long way to go and if she is able to maintain her current form, a potential World No. 1 ranking is not far away.
