“Doesn’t apply to women” Martina Navratilova exasperated by NFL legend Tom Brady’s relation with Ron DeSantis
Martina Navratilova and Tom Brady
Controversial American politician Ron DeSantis serves as the Governor of Florida and is constantly under a lot of heat due to the extreme decisions he takes. Being a Republican, he possesses a very staunch mindset when compared to others and has made some very tough calls that have put him under immense public scrutiny.
To name some, he made some questionable decisions like mask mandates, stay-at-home orders, and vaccination requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic, and recently, to make things worse, he also signed into law the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, that prohibits instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in public school classrooms from kindergarten to grade three.
It was recently reported that DeSantis is on ‘texting terms’ with NFL legend Tom Brady after which tennis icon Martina Navratilova has bashed the latter. She put light on “texting terms” by highlighting another member of the party– US senator from Wisconsin, Ron Johnson, who had also opposed the necessity of vaccines but was inconsiderate towards the laws for women and girls, indirectly pointing to Brady.
“Love the Ron Johnson quote about personal freedom and autonomy. Yup. But apparently, it only applies to vaccines and masks, not to women and girls…” Martina tweeted.

Martina Navratilova hails Adidas for dropping Kanye West after his controversial statement
After his antisemitic views on social media, Kanye West was dropped by Adidas. Navratilova had earlier urged the renowned sportswear brand to cut ties with the singer and hailed them after they released a statement regarding the same.
“Dominoes Kanye, dominoes… And well-done @adidas!!!” Navratilova tweeted celebrating West being dropped by Adidas.
“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness,” a statement from Adidas said.
