The ongoing tussle between the NFL and the fans over Deshaun Watson’s punishment doesn’t seem to catch a break. The Cleveland Browns quarterback, who allegedly had allegations of sexual misconduct involving more than two dozen women, thrown at him, was given a 6 game suspension by an independent adjudicator.

But now, due to so much fuss, Watson has been suspended for 5 more games, i.e. 11 games, and has also been fined $5 million. It is speculated that the NFL wanted a longer suspension in regards to the initial one and rightly so, lodged an appeal, with Roger Goodell, the league’s commissioner.

“Deshaun has committed to doing the hard work on himself that is necessary for his return to the NFL,” Goodell said. “This settlement requires compliance with a professional evaluation and treatment plan, a significant fine, and a more substantial suspension.”

Amidst all this, one of the female journalist was targeted online for publishing a statement when the Watson team decided against issuing a statement or speaking anything on the record. While some people criticized the journalist, many came in support of her saying that anyone related to Watson has no right to say anything against a woman given the recent turn of events.

American tennis legend, Martina Navratilova too took to social media to blast both Deshaun Watson and the NFL. She said that everyone related to Watson should keep their mouth shut, especially when things come about women. She also said that Watson is a lucky guy to be working for an organization that doesn’t give a s**t about women, calling about NFL’s leniency in this matter.

I think everyone in his orbit should STFU about anything about women, period. The end. Watson is one lucky guy to be working for an organization that doesn’t give a shit about women. That would be the #NFL,” Martina wrote.
