“We can only try to recommend,” Emma Raducanu’s agent Max Eisenbud digresses from father Ian’s techniques even though ‘it seems to work for her’
The British prodigy has been in a slump of form since winning the 2021 US Open, with her ranking outside the Top 250.

Former World No. 10 Emma Raducanu‘s struggles do not seem to stop. The Briton is currently ranked 252 in the world and is a long way from where she was once.
The former US Open winner last played at the WTA-1000 event in Doha. She suffered a first-round exit at the hands of Anhelina Kalinina. The Ukrainian won the match 6-0, 7-6(6), handing Raducanu her maiden first-round defeat of the season.
The 21-year-old has played only three tournaments other than the one in Doha. She lost in the second round of all of them, including the 2024 Australian Open. While there have been flashes of her best tennis, they are still not enough to see her make deep runs at the events.
Amid her constant injury struggles and concerns around her form, the coaching situation has also been a big talking point. As per the WTA website, she is not working with any coaches as of now. This comes after going back to her childhood coach, Nick Cavaday, a few days before the Australian Open.
Addressing the coaching situation and the involvement of her father Ian in it, Raducanu’s agent Max Eisenbud explained what the real deal is in all of this. Eisenbud spoke to Andy Roddick on his podcast ‘Served with Andy Roddick’ where the super agent spilled the beans.
I think the coaching situation is something that is hard for people to accept. And she has a father who likes to do things differently like some other fathers. He has a different philosophy about how long coaches should be and all that kind of stuff.Said Eisenbud.
I say to myself and I say to them, If the media is only ripping you on who your coach is and when you keep coaches then we’re going to be in a pretty good situation. But that’s how they do it and as the agent, do I necessarily agree with it? I don’t.Added Eisenbud.
But it seems to work for her. And as the agent we can only try to recommend and say, Hey, this one did it this way. But they seem to be very comfortable the way they’re doing it and I have to respect that.Concluded the agent.

With two more events lined up on the WTA Tour after Dubai, the Briton has not signed up for any. Although her ranking makes it impossible for her to get a direct entry into the main draw, she reportedly didn’t make any requests for wildcards as well.
The one-time Grand Slam singles title winner will need to rely solely on wildcards to play at the Sunshine Double. The wildcards are yet to be announced for the two events.
However, there’s no confirmation from the Raducanu camp on her schedule for the coming month. She’s confirmed only for the clay event in Stuttgart in April.
