Emma Raducanu is a role model for millions of young girls who want to pursue their careers in sports and tennis in particular. At a very young age, she has many accomplishments to her name. She won the US Open female singles title in 2021. She became not only the youngest British tennis player to do so, but also the only player in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam title from the qualifiers.
The 20-year-old also received the Member of the British Empire (MBE) honor from King Charles III for her remarkable feats. This is the reason why fashion house Dior signed a deal with her to become their brand ambassador in 2021. She is also the face of the Dior Lady 95.22 bag campaign.
In the campaign, the British tennis player discusses her passion for tennis, her greatest accomplishment to date, and what empowerment means to her. The celebrity also elaborates on how her mother introduced her to fashion and her very first handbag, which was also from Dior.
Emma Raducanu is hoping for a breakthrough this season.

Emma Raducanu won her career’s first Grand Slam title at a very young age. She defeated Canada’s Leylah Annie Fernandez to clinch the US Open title at the age of 18 years. She breached into the Top 10 and British No.1. Her career, however, has been on a downward spiral since then.
She struggled for the whole 2022 season with fitness and form. Her start to the 2023 season has also not been very encouraging. She picked up an ankle injury in the ASB Classic tournament in Auckland, New Zealand, and was disappointed with her performance at the Australian Open 2023. She was knocked out by Coco Gauff in the second round at Melbourne Park.
However, even after a series of disappointing results, Monica Puig is rooting for Emma Raducanu. She thinks that pressure is something that is holding her back. She has also got some important advice for the young Brit to start winning matches in a row.
“Not necessarily big ones because she won that Grand Slam title, but she hasn’t been able to string many results together in a row. Let go of the expectation after winning a Grand Slam,” she said.
“She already did something that not many people can do. Remember the reason why you started playing tennis in the first place. It’s because of the love of the sport,” she added.
Besides the 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalist, American tennis legend John McEnroe also believes in the talent and abilities of Emma Raducanu. He hopes that she can forget all the losses from the 2022 season and find her way back into the big leagues.
“I think last year was overwhelming, obviously. She has gone through a lot of changes in her life and now she has been struggling with injuries. Everyone in tennis hopes she can deal with what is happening to her and regain the level she showed at the US Open,” he said.
“We all want to see her fit and enjoy the challenge that comes her way, I’m sure she can have a great year. I wish Emma the best. You don’t win a Grand Slam by chance. She’s a great player and she can come back and fight again,” he continued.
Emma Raducanu is currently ranked 80th in the WTA rankings. It will take a series of victories in major tournaments to help her regain her spot in the Top 10.
