Jessica Pegula pays no heed to those who mock her over her background
While people continue to undermine Jessica Pegula’s achievements by attributing all of her success to her rich and wealthy background, the 29-year-old American could not care less about those critics.
During her interview with Forbes, Pegula was asked about such criticism around her background. The World No. 5 said she does not worry too much about those talks as she has made peace with the fact that she cannot change those people’s minds no matter what she does.
I don’t worry too much about it. I think most people get that. Maybe some people who just don’t want to like me for whatever reason maybe will always say that. But I can’t really change their minds. I’ve worked really hard. I definitely wouldn’t have gotten here if it wasn’t for that.Jessica Pegula said about her critics.
Although people keep criticizing her, no one can take away the fact that Pegula has been working tirelessly to stay in the top lot of the players in the world. Making two consecutive WTA Finals is not easy and on top of that, reaching the final in the second attempt is also a top achievement.
