“Fraud Claydal finished, time to pump up injections” Rafael Nadal gets heavily bashed on social media for his ‘shameful’ loss in the Paris Masters opener

Playing for the first time since his US Open loss, 22-time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal lost to American Tommy Paul in his opening match at the 2022 Paris Masters. Nadal lost the match in three sets 6-3,6-7(4),1-6 with which, his dream of winning a maiden title in Bercy was also shattered.
Nadal was playing a singles match after more than 2 months and needless to say, he looked very rusty and tired. He managed to win the first set but missed a lot of shots in the second set. During the third set, he looked completely out of sorts and didn’t even try to serve properly at the end due to his tiredness.
Indoor hard court is Nadal’s least favorable surface and hence, throughout his illustrious career, he didn’t even win either of the two biggest titles on indoor hard courts- the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals.
Nadal, who is a king in Paris thanks to his 14 Roland Garros titles, has come ever so close to winning in Bercy but has never managed to cross the finish line. This was also the first time that Nadal has lost a match in Bercy before the quarterfinals.
Tennis Twitter trolls Rafael Nadal for yet another poor display on indoor hard courts
Tennis fans on social media aren’t happy with Nadal’s poor outing and are once again mocking him for failing miserably on indoor hard courts. People are calling him a clay-court bully once again and are also pointing out the fact that he is old now and should retire. Nadal showed extreme signs of tiredness in the third set and hence, questions loom over his fitness at this age.
Nadal is scheduled to play in the ATP Finals and will most likely not call off the season after this tough loss. If everything goes well, he will compete in Turin for a maiden ATP Finals title.
