Aryna Sabalenka vs Karolina Muchova: Preview
The Czech 26-year-old Karolina Muchova was not a favorite to reach the last four in this Paris Campaign before the tournament but she showed real character and proved why she was world number 19 at one point with her clutch performances. She took care of the unseeded Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the last-8 match in straights: 7-5, 6-2. Except for getting bagelled in round two against Nadia Podoroska where she completely got erased, the Czech player has not lost a set in the tournament.
The Belarusian World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka is the only player left in the draw apart from the Polish World No.1 Iga Swiatek who is yet to lose a set in the tournament. She qualified for the last-4 with a massive win over the unseeded Ukrainian Elina Svitolina: 6-4, 6-4. The Belarusian is in fine form throughout the clay court season where she was able to clinch the Madrid Masters defeating Swiatek in the finals. Adding to that, now the current Australian Open champion is looking for a spot in the finals of the second Grand Slam of the year as well.

The Czech 26-year-old is playing her second Grand Slam semi-final ever this year in Paris. She was able to reach the last four previously in the Australian Open 2021 where she lost to the eventual runner-up Jennifer Brady. She will be looking to turn the table this year against Sabalenka whom she has a losing head-to-head 0-1.
Sabalenka came into the tournament as a title favorite and she has lived up to the expectations until now. As she takes on the unseeded Czech player in the last four, the odds are heavily in favor of her.
