German tennis federation offers Boris Becker to “pick his job” upon serving his prison sentence

Former tennis player from Germany Boris Becker is one of the greatest players who had dominated men’s tennis for almost 15 years. He shot to fame by winning Wimbledon just at the age of 17 and retired from the sport with 49 ATP singles titles and six Grand Slam singles titles. He is currently serving his prison sentence of 30 months. Upon serving his term in prison, he will be welcomed by the German Tennis Federation with open arms.
Despite being a great player, he has often landed himself in controversies. In April 2022, he was arrested for two and a half years of imprisonment. He faced charges of tax fraud and hiding assets worth £4.5M to avoid paying the debt after being bankrupt in 2017. Becker had also been forced to auction 82 items from his personal collection including the 1989 US Open trophy which was the only time he won in New York.
Boris Becker might qualify for an early release and will be deported back to Germany a few days ahead of the end of his jail term because of a fast-track program that will allow some cases to do so. The best part is that the German Federation is eagerly waiting for his arrival as they have offered him a job in the Federation as per his choice of the nature of the job.
The 9-time Grand Slam champion has already been part of the German Federation as the head of men’s tennis from 2017 to 2020. The Vice President of the German Tennis Federation released a statement that “I can imagine many things for Boris: Head of Men’s Tennis, representative, board, or whatever else. To put it casually: Boris can pick the job.“

Boris Becker was detained at Wandsworth Prison in London but was later moved to Huntercombe in Oxfordshire which is famous for holding foreign offenders. There have been increased reports, however, that the former Wimbledon will be instantly deported from the country after his time in jail has been served.
The former world number one’s lawyer had stated his client is slowly adjusting and adjusting to the prison environment but cannot disclose many details about his imprisoned life in order to respect his personal privacy and according to the laws as well. He often shares his life experiences with his prison inmates. He has his own cell and is allowed to make phone calls as per his wish.
Boris Becker has become popular in prison and donned the hat of a teacher to give lessons to his inmates on topics like fitness, nutrition, medication, yoga, and other things. The former Australian Open champion introduced fitness plans for the jail inmates that he follows diligently and makes sure the others also do so. He has even lost weight to be in the fittest of his health.
