Serena Williams is amongst the most celebrated and successful athletes in the sporting world. She changed the dynamics of women’s tennis and is widely regarded as the greatest female tennis player to have ever played the sport. She is also amongst the greatest sports person to have played and naturally, is friends with her contemporaries from different sports.

For a long time, Serena is stuck at 23 major titles and is looking to win an elusive 24th major title. Back in 2019, Serena was in great form and was ever so close to winning that 24th major title. It was the same time around which legendary golfer Tiger Woods staged one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history to win his 15th Major title in his professional golf career.

Woods, who last won a major title almost 10 years ago in 2008, shot two-under 70 in the final to become the second oldest Masters winner as he won the US Open. To put things into perspective, Woods was dealing with a lot of personal issues, and the roar at the end when he won the title revealed what this meant to him.

Serena Williams was out of action for almost a year and returned to the tour at Wimbledon last month where she lost in the first round. She will now play a couple of tournaments ahead of the all-important US Open. The US Open could realistically be Serena’s last chance to win a major title as she will be 41 next year and wouldn’t be around much.

Having said that, she has everything it takes to win the 24th major title of her career but she will have to have a would build-up to it and the US Open this month will be her best shot at it.
