World No 1 Iga Swiatek has been one of the consistent performers of the year. She clinched two Grand Slam singles titles and six WTA titles in the year. The Pole also became the fourth player in the Open Era to retain the No. 1 for more than 30 weeks. She unlocked another achievement in her kitty by winning 10 consecutive finals on the WTA Tour.

She had been the dominant player in most of the tournaments on the WTA Tour, especially during the clay season. The 2-time French Open champion had registered an 18-match winning streak that ended with her loss at the Poland Open. Also, her 37-match winning streak is the longest on the WTA Tour in the 21st century. But it ended with her third loss at Wimbledon.

The 3-time Grand Slam champion shattered records to become the first player in the Open Era to achieve this unthinkable feat. Her 10 consecutive WTA final wins came in straight sets. The winning streak started at the 2020 French Open and continued till her triumph at the 2022 US Open.

Her list of achievements and accolades is unmatched and needs no introduction. The 21-year-old registered 62 match wins in the season along with serving 20 bagels. She even recorded 40 hard-court wins. She started the season as the World No 9 but ended the year as the World No 1.

The French Open winner ended the year with more than 11,000 rankings points. She became the second player to achieve this feat other than the 23-Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams. This difference itself shows the dominance the Polish had on the tour this season as she registered a 67-9 win-loss record.

Despite being one of the dominant players, she failed to go past the semifinals at the Year-end Championship. She chose not to play at the BJK Cup after showing her concerns over tight scheduling for players. Following her successful 2022 campaign, she has been adjudged the Player of the year at the 2022 WTA Awards.

Continuing her impeccable form and achievements, she has successfully defeated most Top-10 players in 2022. This list includes both male and female players. Interestingly, Iga Swiatek leads the list with her 15 successful wins top seed players while Djokovic is second with 11 wins.
