Swiatek matched Venus’ record of 35 consecutive wins which she set in 2000, at the 2022 French Open when she defeated Coco Gauff in the final to win her second grand slam title.

The Pole started her winning streak 4 months back in Qatar and hasn’t been defeated yet. During this time, she won the Qatar Open– her maiden WTA 1000 title in hard courts, completed the Sunshine Double- Indian Wells and Miami, and then won the Stuttgart Open on clay. She then defended her Italian Open title and went on to win the French Open for the second time.

American legend Martina Navratilova holds the record for most consecutive matches won on tour. She won a whopping 74 consecutive matches in the 80s and was undefeated for more than a year. Apart from her 74-match winning streak, Navratilova also holds 3 other winning streak records which are bigger than Swiatek’s 36-match streak.

The current world no.1’s next target will be to surpass Navratilova’s winning streak of 41 matches which will also put her into the top 10 of the longest winning streak list in women’s tennis. For that she will have to reach the semifinals at Wimbledon to match and finals to surpass Navratilova’s record. And given her amazing form, it looks very likely that Swiatek will enter the top 10.
