The 19-year-old Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz has been the find of the season by a mile. For starters, he defeated his childhood idol Rafael Nadal and eventually pulled the Madrid title making himself ready to conquer the future. The young spirit became the first man to defeat both world number 3 and number 4 on clay in the same tournament and the only teenager to beat the great king of Clay.

Ion Tiriac, a former Romanian professional tennis player and also the president of the Romanian Tennis Federation recently gave an interview to Clay tennis where he discussed the new man to be replaced in the future tennis world. The Romanian is one of the world’s richest players and also a very successful Businessman in the country and is now currently the director of the Geneva Tournament.

In the interview, he spoke about the three big men in the sport and how they ruled the decade topping the lists. Rafael Nadal will be the best of all as he believes he is the right guy who always sustains with the same level of energy as compared to Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. “Nadal is Nadal, and at Roland Garros, there is no one like him,“ he said.

The entrepreneur also commented on the world number 3’s fatal mistake with a vaccine and said he too is a great player with no doubt. At the end mentioning about the ever-great Roger Federer. “He might come back, but I don’t think he has the capacity to be competitive. I would even say that he risks making a fool of himself,” said the former world number 55.

After speaking about what the future holds for the sport, he said the Spanish Young player might be the next big man in the row. He then stated it can also be the 19-year-old Holger Rune but with his personal problems he might not be as expected.

“Alcaraz? A future number 1. Tennis is going to need a great character in place of these three who are leaving, so I hope Alcaraz is one.  The new generation is coming, that’s for sure,” the Romanian added.
