The 13,000+ fans at the Turin Stadium cheered for Jannik Sinner as the Italian made it through to the semi-finals, taking Novak Djokovic with him. He beat the young Dane Holger Rune in an epic 3-set match to end undefeated in the green group.
The Italian had never beaten Rune before this encounter and he reveals the importance of winning against the Dane.

Sinner showed all the fans another demonstration of the quality of tennis he has been producing in the latter half of the season. He had a dream start to the tournament by cruising through against Stefanos Tsitsipas and then eventually went on to beat the very experienced Djokovic. He finished off his group stage matches with a thrilling victory against Rune, thus ensuring that he finishes at the top of the table.

The green group in the Nitto ATP Finals have concluded their matches and Jannik Sinner moves on to the semi-finals along with World No. 1 Novak Djokovic. Sinner becomes the first Italian to reach the semi-finals of the tournament and the youngster is more determined than ever to end strong in front of his home crowd.
This is an important victory for me and I know I have a great opportunity to do something important on Saturday. It’s a privilege to be in the semifinals of this tournament, and even more so taking place in Italy.
From the other draw, the red group, Daniil Medvedev has already set foot in the semi-finals and will be joined by the likes of either Carlos Alcaraz or Alexander Zverev. The winner of the groups takes on the runner-up in the semi-finals and from there on, the two well-deserving players battle it out for the prestigious trophy.
